About Ro & Sunny Creative
The Maker Behind the Brand
I'm Kat, fiber artist and creator behind Ro & Sunny Creative, where creativity meets intention. My background is in adult learning and leadership, where I've spent years designing training, facilitating learning experiences, and helping others grow both virtually and in person. That work strengthened my technical skills, adaptability, and ability to connect with people through clarity and purpose.
Honestly though, I've been a maker my whole life. As a kid I was the one with embroidery thread wrapped around every finger making friendship bracelets, melting Perler Beads into designs, and turning pony beads into lizard keychains. I've always been drawn to making things with my hands. Growing up with a mom who loved yarn probably had something to do with it too. She sparked a curiosity in fiber arts that stayed with me long after childhood.
I leaned back into fiber arts as an adult during a time when creativity had taken a back seat to everything else life demands. Picking up yarn again reminded me what it feels like to slow down, focus, and make something with my own hands. Creating gave me space to breathe and helped me reconnect with myself. Ro & Sunny Creative grew from that experience, built on the belief that creativity is essential to well-being, not something extra.
I still work full-time in a professional environment. Ro & Sunny Creative is my passion project, built in the evenings and on weekends with intention and care. Every tutorial, pattern, and piece of content is made because I genuinely love this craft and want to share it with anyone who's ready to pick up their needles or hook.
I don't believe in gatekeeping. Everything I've learned through fiber arts has helped me...the techniques, the community, the slow meditative practice of making something stitch by stitch. Why would I keep that to myself? My work blends structure and creativity, using storytelling and design to make crafting accessible and inspire others to carve out their own time to create.
What Drives Me
Creativity with purpose. Every project, from a pattern to a tutorial to a finished piece (and even those frogged), is an opportunity to teach, inspire, and build community.
My Mission
Ro & Sunny exists to make creativity accessible. I believe everyone has a creative spark within them, even if life has buried it under responsibilities and routines. Through making fiber arts approachable, thoughtful tutorials, and authentic storytelling, I want to help others rediscover what creating can do for their confidence, connection, and mental well-being.
